ABOUT
Victoria Anne Cornwell King MA FRSA is a UK based Classical Fine Artist, Academic, Writer & Creative Consultant.
King draws upon her own personal history and life experiences in her work. to develop narratives which explore aspects of contemporary life in the 21st century. She also draws upon her research skills to profile and celebrate the work of key Renaissance artists to shed light on their life, history and creations.
King celebrates the legacy of particular Renaissance Master Artists; Vermeer, Botticelli, Massacio, Da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raphael, Caravaggio, and Artemisia Gentileschi. She also uses Traditional Methods and Techniques within her work to perpetuate the legacy of these special artists across Time, when new techniques were evolving in conjunction with the optimistic notion of a new ‘Age of Enlightenment’.

Victoria Anne Cornwell King MA FRSA originally studied Fine Art with artist Charles Gebherd who trained at The Royal Academy School London. These early art studies covered Life Drawing, Portaiture and Still Life, creating work across media, in charcoal, graphite, pen/ink, pastel and oil paint.
Concurrently King also studied Classical Ballet/Russian Style to a professional level from 11-18years with Miss Kathleen Crofton, a talented protegee of Prima Ballerina Anna Pavlova, who then later became a sololist with the Markova-Dolin Ballet Company.
King ultimately concentrated on her Art Studies via Hornsey College of Art, and Walthamstow School of Art/UEL. Her tutors here included Sir Peter Blake RA, Olwyn Bowey RA, Richard Rome RA, Jack Smith, Fred Dubery RA Tutor /NEAC, writer Iain Sinclair FRSL.
King has worked intensely for decades across the UK creative cultural sector as arts manager/entrepreneur, creative consultant and specialist university lecturer with Birkbeck, Greenwich, London Met and Middlesex universities over 17 years. King has developed indepth knowledge and experience in the politics of arts support, funding strategies, audience development.
King was gained an MA Arts Policy & Management from The City University in 1991 and then established her own Consultancy working with artists, arts organisationa and government agencies. For example; Arts Council England/ as Arts Project & ArtsMark Assessor, IMT Gallery, LBB&D A13 Public Arts Project/Arts Deveopment Officer. London Arts Board/NADA Residencies, LBB Finchley & Hackney Arts Fesivals, Centre Manager Barnet Arts Workshop,SPACE STUDIOS Manager responsible x14 Artists Studio Complexes across London, and SPACE AWARDS/FRESH ART Fair at Business Design Centre Islington.
Whilst working with with BIRKBECK UCL she became the Director of Placements. Her commitment to professionally mentor and train young students to fully suceed in a range of different careers within the UK creative cultural sector has always remained paramount in this work.
King resumed her own painting practice again in 1994 initially on a part time basis, and then full time on leaving her work as a university lecturer in 2011.
King held a professional studio at The Chocolate Factory CF1 Clarendon Road Wood Green for 22 years until the complex was redeveloped and then moved back to SPACE Studios Hackney Wick in 2017.
KIng has regularly completed commissions, and exhibited her work; Kensington/Chelsea Town Hall Art Fair, Lubomirov Angus-Hughes Gallery, Le Mur Vivant Fine Art, N22 College Artists, and member of Essex Art Club. She has offered workshops and private individual tuition in Renaissance Painting and Drawing Methods/Techniques, use of composition, colour theory, mediums, glazing, the complete early training in these disciplines.
Whilst a Liveryman with The Worshipful Company of Arts Scholars, King was a member of the Education Committee and delivered a presentation on Holbein’s Portrait Drawings to The Worshipful Company of Barber Surgeons held in the City of London.
Since 2011 King has consistently researched Renaissance Methods and Techniques, with LARA (London Atelier Representational Art), David Cranswick The Princes Drawing School, specialist courses atThe National Gallery, The Wallace Collection, The Courtauld and Oxford University.
